DUMP TRUCK OVERTURNS ON TOP OF CAR
October 02, 2009
A dump truck carrying wet concrete is struck by a car and then overturns on top of the car spilling its wet concrete. The identity of the people involved has not been released, but emergency responders removed the driver of the car and took him to Parkland. No information has been released on the condition of the driver.
The collision took place at an intersection controlled by flashing yellow and red lights. It appears the dump trump was northbound on Hampton and was going through a flashing yellow light when the car going westbound on Bickers went through a flashing red light and into the path of the truck.
The intersection where the wreck took place does not have a red light camera. In 2008, the City of Dallas had a total of 62 such cameras that in the event of an accident can be extremely helpful to show who ran the red light. If you are injured because someone runs a red light, and the intersection has a red light camera, you should immediately request a copy of the red light camera at the intersection. The companies that maintain these cameras do not maintain the images indefinitely, and they will eventually be destroyed.
If you have been injured in an automobile accident anywhere in the Dallas Fort-Worth metroplex, you need lawyers on your side who will investigate the issues not only of the wreck, but also issues regarding the ownership of the vehicle and whether the driver was negligently entrusted with a vehicle or driving a vehicle in the course and scope of his or her employment such that the employer can be held responsible for the driver's negligence. At Montes Herald Law Group, LLP, our attorneys aggressively investigate cases to preserve evidence of the other party's responsibility and of your pain and suffering, medical expenses, lost wages, punitive damages and other damages that you are entitled to recover by law.
